General Tools & Instruments DCS100 Seeker 100 Wireless USB Video Inspection System - HD Borescope Camera for Plumbing, HVAC, Automotive & Home Inspections

I purchased this to see inside engine cylinders for piston, valve and carbon conditions. I had to also purchase the smaller probe to fit down a spark plug hole. The probe that comes with it will just fit down the hole but with the mirror attached, it will not fit. The device connects to your PC OK though you need to be connected to the internet to find drivers. Once in action all 4 channels had noise but I found one that was acceptable. However the video was not acceptable. It focuses fine but the overall resolution is too low for any good detail. The LED lights do not flood the area but create a glare spot in the center of the video frame. The smaller probe was worse as far as video quality.The included mirrors are low quality and scratch easily. They appear to be made of plastic not glass.I returned it.This is so cool, I always said "if only I had a light and an eye on my hand then I could fix or find that". Just last week I dropped a bolt down the car door window as I replaced the broken rear view mirror, Hey the new inspection and the cable gripper will work, and it did! You need one of these! its only $44....I bought this to examine my large caliber Black Powder gun barrels. Poor choice on my part, should have paid attention to the previous reviews. The minimum focus is near 4 inches useless for my purpose. However it is very good for looking inside walls or hard to reach places so I gave it 2 stars, the tech Details should have said that.Lousy product. Not worth the cheap price. Pictures are too lousy quality. Cannot get it to focus most of the times. Pictures are washed out most of the times.Cannot distinguish anything most of the times. 6 year old child may be satisfied with it.Arrived promptly , works well, pleased with it and can use for many applications. Seems to be constructed for different uses, as well as auto repair.The other reviews are too harsh. If you want to make IMAX films, this is not for you. If you want to do colonoscopies, this is not for you. It works just fine, and the picture quality is as good as you can ask for. At this price point, it is 4 stars. In the spectrum of all available inspection cameras, then yes, it is a three or maybe a two star. But a one star? Get real...The scope is not very good. The focal distance is about 5" and that is too long for viewing tight areas. Even at the optimum focal distance, the focus is rather poor. My main application is to read part numbers from components inside instruments. The scope can't read even 10 point text clearly. I've returned the scope.Great product. Truly plug and play for a change . The image is reasonable and once you figure out how to twist and turn it only gets better. The install CD worked the first time on a Vista laptop. Tried it on an older XP laptop but it was a no go. I suspect the laptop is the issue. Old and tired:)Great camera for the price!
