I had a pierced ear in college (just one). About 10 years ago, I stopped regularly wearing an earing, but recently thought I would put one back in, just for fun. The back of the hole had closed up. When I had it done the first time, it was in a shopping mall done by a 16 or maybe 18 year old girl, using the same piercing gun they had used on the 100's before me, and 100's after me, and maybe got cleaned, at some point. Looking back, it is a wonder I didn't get anything except a hole in my ear. I decided I was not going to do that again. Thought about my local tattoo shop. They do piercings in addition to tattoos, nice guys, but very limited hours lately and would much rather do a 4 hour tattoo session, than a 20 minute piercing.This is a quick easy way to reopen the hole. I only used one of the two provided, it was quick, easy, almost painless (just a little pinch), you can do it at home, in private (not sitting in a mall), I think it costs less than a mall, and it is a single use, sterilized instrument. I am all into recycling, but there are a few things that should be single use, and something that breaks the skin should be either disposable, or able to be sterilized. I picked a simple stud for a starter, have others I can put in later, but seem to have a nice variety available if you want something different. And it comes in a two pack, so you can either pierce both of someone's ears, or you could add another hole to your ear and a friend's ear. Lots of possibilities.
